Heru Appreciates Land Arrangement on Side of Soeta Airport Toll Road

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended the Pluit warehousing land arrangement activity, on the side of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Soeta) Toll Road, Pejagalan Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district, North Jakarta, Thursday (2/2).

Tree planting and land arrangement activities can be carried out sustainably

Hundreds of trees and ornamental plants such as Spathodea, Flamboyan, and Tabebuya were planted to beautify the toll roadside land and arrangements ahead of the 2023 ASEAN Summit.

At that time, he appreciated this greening activity as an effort to present more Green Open Spaces (RTH) in Jakarta, which is the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to meet the target of 30 percent green open space availability by 2030.

Heru Expects More Optimum Community Water Services

"I express my appreciation to the North Jakarta administration, the Water Resources Agency (SDA), and Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency (Distamhut), and their staff who have made efforts to conduct tree planting and landscaping to meet the needs of green open space, as well as to beautify the Pejagalan area. So, this is along the road (warehousing) that we authenticated, approximately 1 kilometer to 1.5 kilometers long. Previously, where we were standing was an unorganized place when seen from the toll road," he expressed, as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

He also explained planting trees along the toll road is proof that limited land is not an obstacle to greening efforts in Jakarta. Various assets belonging to the Regional Government could also be used for additional green open space, to reduce carbon emissions, thereby improving air quality in Jakarta.

"We hope that tree planting and area arrangement activities can be carried out sustainably and consistently in other areas, thus air quality and environmental sustainability in Jakarta will improve and contribute to achieving carbon emission reduction targets," he explained.

He also hoped that this revitalization was capable of presenting the atmosphere of Jakarta, which is green and comfortable, thus at the same time it plays an active role in supporting Indonesia as a good host for the ASEAN Summit delegates.

"Hopefully, this warehousing area at Pluit Karang Karya is always neat, green, and beautiful, as well as not misused for harmful things. Considering that this area is the route for the guests of the 2023 ASEAN Summit participating countries from the airport to Jakarta," he concluded.

As for the information, today's land arrangement was also attended by North Jakarta Mayor, Ali Maulana Hakim; Bina Marga Agency Head, Hari Nugroho; SDA Agency Head, Yusmada Faizal; and Jakarta Parks and City Forest Agency Acting Head, Afan Andriansyah.

Then, there were 301 trees that had been planted in the area, of the targeted 850 trees, including spatodea, mahogany, tabebuia, flamboyan, menteng, jamblang, guava bol, cempedak trees; as well as ornamental plants, namely widelia; pretty pink, and peacock flowers.
