KPKP Agency Supports Planting of 1,000 Breadfruit Trees in Seribu Islands

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security Agency (KPKP) is ready to succeed in the program of planting 1,000 Breadfruit trees in Seribu Islands. Support is realized by preparing Breadfruit tree seedlings and other productive trees.

The characteristics of Seribu Island plants are identical to Breadfruit and Coconut trees

Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Suharini Eliawati said that her agency greatly appreciated the tree-planting efforts that had been carried out in Seribu Islands. Hence, his party would ensure that it would continuously support this program.

"We, from the KPKP Agency, fully support it. Because the specialty of the island is Breadfruit and the Regent has made a program, we support it," she expressed, Tuesday (2/7).

Besides breadfruit tree seeds, she would also prepare vegetable seeds and several productive plants, such as water spinach and spinach to typical Jakarta fruits such as Rambutan Rapia and Dewi Star Fruit, and Genja Coconut.

The agency was also ready to support the development of types of ornamental plants that are suitable for the climate and geography of Seribu Islands, such as orchids, and support the development of fruit plants in pots (tabulampot) such as Sapodilla, Duren, Pete, and other exotic plants.

"We're grateful for the role of Seribu Islands in the development of urban farming for food security. Hope the nursery will be ready to help," she asserted.

Seribu Islands Regent, Junaedi appreciated the agency's support to his party. So far, his party has been active in planting productive trees, shade trees, and ornamental plants.

"The characteristics of Seribu Island plants are identical to Breadfruit and Coconut trees," he stated.
