24,870 Trees Have Been Planted in West Jakarta Since October

The West Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency has recorded that as many as 24,870 shade and productive trees have been planted in eight sub-districts from October until January 5, 2023.
West Jakarta Mayor, Yani Wahyu Purwoko said that tree planting packed in Nampo Bumi program (Planting Earth Trees) involved all elements of society, thus they also feel they own and take care of the trees planted in their environment.

He explained that the shade trees planted type Ma
honi, Angsana, and Tabebuya, while productive trees type Durian, Kedondong, Mango, Kelor, Breadfruit, and Timbul.He even instructed local urban village heads to plant trees that are characteristic of the region. For instance, if it is on Jalan Mangga, it is better to plant mango trees thus the harvest is the same.
"I've directed urban village heads to plant trees for uniformity," he added.
He hoped that this planting could protect and preserve nature, as well as be a container for water absorption.
"Hopefully, it can make West Jakarta more beautiful and fresh," he concluded.
