Commission B DPRD Jakarta, Ismail has said that Perumda Paljaya must be
more optimal in realizing healthy sanitation in Jakarta, especially in densely populated residential areas. The need for healthy sanitation for these residents must be met
According to him, Perumda Paljaya must show its active role in realizing a cleaner Jakarta in terms of sanitation both for horizontal and vertical housing and other commercial places.
"The need for healthy sanitation for these residents must be met or optimized by Perumda Paljaya," he expressed, Thursday (2/9).
PAM Jaya Demanded to Focus on Public ServicesAccording to him, regarding budgeting needs, there must be a priority and look at the opportunities that exist with the aim of not burdening the City Budget (APBD).
"Besides CSR funds, for example, it can be done using funds from the implementation of the Building Floor Coefficient or KLB if the regulations allow it, that's fine," he explained.
He explained the construction of a pipeline network for wastewater management, a very large investment was needed and so far it had used the Proposed Capital Injection (PMD) scheme via APBD.
"The investment is trillions. I think this also needs a solution, if possible with an alternative to seeking grants from abroad. If this is possible, this can be very helpful," he explained.
He hoped that Perumda Paljaya could also optimize the PMD allocation that had been given for the construction of a Wastewater Management Installation (IPAL) and network.
"This must be absorbed or executed immediately, as it has been approved in the Council. Jakarta is currently improving, including the utility network, this requires good coordination, thus the infrastructure of the Integrated Utility Network Facility (SJUT) or Paljaya's installed pipeline won't be demolished again," he added.
Perumda PAL Jaya Corporate Secretary, Saptanto Tabrani expressed that accelerating the realization of healthy sanitation in Jakarta requires a lot of funding or investment, especially if it uses a pipeline network.
Nevertheless, Perumda Paljaya could accelerate by optimizing the local WWTP, known as Bio PAL in areas that had not yet been connected to the pipe system and the Communal Domestic Wastewater Treatment System (SPALD).
"We certainly welcome it if there is support from the executive and legislator if we can use the source of funds from the KLB compensation. Moreover, the Acting Governor also wants the issue of healthy sanitation to be a concern," he explained.
Perumda Paljaya was very ready to realize healthy sanitation in Jakarta, as it was very important to overcome environmental pollution and maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) for the community.
"We BUMDs engaged in waste handling agree that this sanitation problem needs to be resolved immediately. Moreover, Jakarta is a big city. We don't want residents to still defecate indiscriminately. Open Defecation Free is important, as it is an indicator of a healthy city," he concluded.
