Food Sovereignty, City to Improves Cooperation with NTT

As known, Jakarta Provincial Government has made cooperation with Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) Province in beef procurement. Starting from last January, NTT has sent the cow or frozen beef to Jakarta.

We're thinking how to help NTT citizens, especially in the beef procurement cooperation. Since last January, NTT has sent their beef to Jakarta under PD Dharma Jaya responsibility

Furthermore, NTT will supply 40 thousands cows and 28 thousands ton of frozen beef by this year. Moreover, this cooperation is aimed to give advantages for the both side.

"We're thinking how to help NTT citizens, especially in the beef procurement cooperation. Since last January, NTT has sent their beef to Jakarta under PD Dharma Jaya responsibility," said Basuki Tjahaja 'Ahok' Purnama, Jakarta Governor, in sidelines of Traditional Ritual Celebration Reba-Ngada, in NTT Bridge at TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah), East Jakarta, Saturday (2/14). 

Jakarta and NTT Establish Cooperation in Cattle Breeding

Basuki mentioned, the cows should have good quality, health, clean, and certified by related agency. Some of NTT cows will also be reared, so not all cows will be slaughtered.

"City will cooperate with some company to create cattle ranch to let the breeder to get optimal benefit," told Basuki.

Meanwhile, NTT Governor Frans Lebu Raya said, the cooperation between NTT and Jakarta actually been done since Governor Joko Widodo era and continuously improved. 

"This cooperation has been pioneered since Governor Joko Widodo Era. Because Jakarta citizens need 161 ton of beef per day, and NTT has many cows, so we create this cooperation and we ensure to routinely send the cows to Jakarta," said Raya.
