8 Parks Along Green Belt in C. Jakarta Repaired

Post-flood a few days ago in the capital, causing some parks on the green belt damaged. In Central Jakarta for instance, as many as eight parks are damaged and still under repair.

On average, the damage is caused by flood and trampled by people to look for a safer place

According to Themy Kendra Putra, Central Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Sub-Department, the eight damaged parks are located on Jalan Kebon Sirih in front of Indonesia Bank (BI), Jalan Budi Kemuliaan belakang BI, Jalan Letjen Suprapto, Jalan Veteran, Jalan Pos Lapangan Banteng, Jalan Pangeran Jayakarta, Jalan Majapahit, and Jalan Ahmad Yani.

"On average, the damage is caused by flood and trampled by people to look for a safer place," he told, Monday (2/16).

He continued that the repair itself will complete by the end of this February. "The repair has been ongoing since yesterday. It might take two weeks ahead," he expressed.

His sub-department uses an urgent-handling fund to repair those parks. Due to it is not yet disbursed, the plants of a nursery garden belonging Jakarta Parks and Cemetery Department had to be utilized.

"Considering the City Budget (APBD) is not yet approved, we had to utilize the plants in the garden. We are also calculating its repair fund while repairing the parks," he uttered.
