Jakarta Ensures Alertness in Disaster Management

The Jakarta Provincial Government ensures alertness and vigilance in disaster management both at the pre-disaster, emergency response and post-disaster stages.

The president also emphasized that each region should improve its disaster management

In uploads on his social media account, Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said preparations must be made long before a disaster occurs, such as by educating and providing training to the community as a precautionary measure.

"The president also emphasized that each region should improve its disaster management, such as by simplifying the procedure for distributing disaster aid and preparing an adequate budget for disasters," he said, when he attended the national coordination meeting (Rakornas) for Disaster Mitigation 20223 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Thursday (3/2) yesterday.

He explained the Jakarta Government together with related parties is ready to follow up on the President's directives regarding disaster management. His party will continue to prioritize disaster education, strengthening mitigation, and emergency response.

"As well as accelerating recovery for communities affected by disasters in the Jakarta area," he stated.

As for the information, the Rakornas meeting was also attended by several ministers, National Police Chief, National Army (TNI) commanders, National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) heads, Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) heads, regional heads from all over Indonesia, to disaster volunteers.
