Jakarta Women's Empowerment, Family Planning and Child Protection Agency (PPAPP) has provided Psychosocial Support Services (LDP) to refugee child survivors affected by fire from the fuel storage depot operated by state energy company Pertamina in Rasela RPTRA, Rawa Badak Selatan Urban Village, Koja Sub-district, North Jakarta.

Jakarta PPAPP Agency Head, Tuty Kusumawati said that psychosocial assistance was given to help reduce the victim's emotional burden and prevent deeper psychological impacts, especially on children.
"We assigned the PUSPA Counselor Service Personnel and Psychologists on duty at the Center for the Protection of Women and Children to the evacuation sites for providing psychological assistance to children and other vulnerable groups such as pregnant and lactating women, including the elderly," she expressed, Sunday (3/5).

"It will be ongoing for the next few days until the victims' conditions improve," she stated.
She added the Government is the main responsible for disaster protection and management based on Law Number 24/2007 on Disaster Management, including protecting vulnerable groups, such as children, pregnant and lactating women, and the elderly.
"One of the protections provided includes psychosocial assistance efforts, from treatment to recovery to prevent children from experiencing worse impacts and avoiding violence," she added.
As for the information, until Sunday (3/5) morning, the number of evacuees in Rasela RPTRA was recorded 226 people. They consisted of 44 elderly, 24 toddlers, 45 children, 85 adults, 26 teenagers, and two pregnant women.
