Commission D Supports City to Find Long-Term Solutions After Pertamina Fire in North Jakarta

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission D Chairwoman, Ida Mahmudah supports the Jakarta Provincial Government's steps to find a long-term solution after the fire that broke out at the Pertamina Plumpang Depot last Friday (3/3).

We hope that they find appropriate housing solutions for the victims

She hoped that the Jakarta Government could also find a suitable housing solution for hundreds of families who were victims of the Pertamina Plumpang Depot fire.

"We and they have a shared responsibility. Due to the dangerous location conditions, we hope that they find appropriate housing solutions for the victims," she expressed, Monday (3/6).

She explained that the Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Agency coincided with having a piece of land on Jalan Yos Sudarso or exactly opposite the fire location.

"The land belonging to the Jakarta Government is good for building Rusunawa (low-cost apartment) for the relocation of fire survivors in Tanah Merah. This is a long-term solution that the council has also proposed," she explained.

Several months ago, his party also asked them to write a letter to the central government regarding the management of the Wisma Atlet building to be transformed into flats for Jakarta residents.

"Hopefully, the application process for handing over the Wisma Atlet building can be expedited for the benefit of the fire survivors. The relocation option is closer and strategic," she stated.
