Djarot Opens OSK Event in East Jakarta

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat gets opportunity to open Olimpiade Sains Kuark (OSK) 2015 in Complex SDN (States Elementary School) Pulo Gebang 04, 05, 12, 22 on Jalan Rawa Bebek, Cakung, East Jakarta. Djarot also hoped there will be more students’ number that advanced in science through this activity.

Djarot said, for the future of the nation, the students should advanced in science. Moreover, the students should not only understand the theory, but also implement the science in their real life, so science can be a fun study for them.

"Physics Indonesian scientist as well as the originator of OSK, Prof. Yohanes Surya, has developed 50 Indonesian students that win the international science event. This proves the Indonesian student is clever, as long as they want to learn. Why you don't take the example? If you learn, I believe you can," he said, Saturday (2/21).

10 Teams Ready to Monitor Any Devation in Schools

According to him, science is fun. But, most of the teachers still not understand about science. So the students feel afraid to learn. Because of that, his side will change the stury quality in capital. At least, the education department head, sub-department head and the principal should love science.

East Jakarta Education Zone 1 Head, Ari Budiman said OSK in East Jakarta participated by 1,296 students. The event that held at 3 points is only lasted one day. The competition is divided into three levels. Level 1 is followed by students in grade 1 and 2. Then level 2 for grade 3 and 4. And level 3 were participated by grade 5 and 6.

"The advantage of this science is the trial or practice was included in each subject area. The students are not only got theory, so they feel happy to follow the lesson," he said.
