Prices of Staples in Pademangan Timur Market Gradually Decline

This is suspected because the stock has begun to overflow

The price hike on staple foods at Pademangan Timur Market, Jalan Pademangan III, Pademangan, North Jakarta is now starting to down.

Parmih (47), a vegetable seller from Pademangan Timur Market expressed that in the last three days, the price of curly red chilies, red cayenne peppers, garlic, and shallots has decreased by between Rp 5,000 and Rp 30,000 per kilogram.

"This is suspected because the stock has begun to overflow," he expressed, Sunday (4/2).

Since the beginning of Ramadan, he explained, the price of red cayenne pepper had touched Rp 80,000 per kilogram and has now fallen to Rp 50,000 per kilogram.

Likewise with curly red chilies, from Rp 50,000 to Rp 40,000 per kilogram. Price reductions also occurred for shallots and garlic, from Rp 4,000 to Rp 45,000, which decreased by Rp 5,000 per kilogram.

"Thank God, regular buyers still visit my trade, so the turnover is still stable," he admitted.

A similar statement also came out from Khairul (42), a rice seller at the same market. He admitted the current commodity price of rice has decreased by Rp 1,000 to Rp 2,000 per kilogram.

For instance, rice IR (61) from Rp 11,500 to Rp 10,500 per kilogram, IR (62) from Rp 14,000 to Rp 12,000 per kilogram, and IR (42) from Rp 17,000 to Rp 15,000 per kilogram.

"Hopefully, prices remain stable until the end of Ramadan, thus buyers will be busy again," he hoped.

Then Munajat (51), a chicken seller said that the price of broiler meat is currently stable at Rp 40,000 per kilogram.

"Prices have remained stable since the beginning of Ramadan. They may increase before Idul Fitri," he said.
