City Receives Tens of Thousands of Community Aspirations

The Jakarta Provincial Government has recorded 29,946 proposals for community aspirations through Musrenbang 2023. These aspirations were obtained through three sources, namely Rembuk RW, direct proposals made by the executive and proposals originating from the results of the council recess.

In total, there were 12,107 proposals for community aspirations that entered through Rembuk RW, while aspirations that entered through direct proposals by the executive were recorded as 5,376 proposals. While the aspirations of the people who entered through the results of the council recess were 12,463 proposals.

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono expressed the 2024 development plan was directed and prioritized to address six issues, namely, flood prevention, traffic jam management, recovery from an economic slowdown, poverty alleviation, accelerated reduction of stunting, and strengthening democratic values.

"The handling of these six priority issues requires Pentahelix synergy with the central and other regional governments, academics, entrepreneurs, public or communities, and media," he expressed, at the opening of the Jakarta RKPD Musrenbang 2024 Plenary Session at City Hall, Monday (4/10).

He urged all regional apparatuses to respond wisely to all existing conditions, thus development targets in 2024 can be achieved, and pay attention to development priorities and indicators for 2024.

He then also asked the regional apparatuses to ensure that all regional development program planning can spur growth in the economic, social, and environmental sectors.

"I urge the ranks to ensure that all proposed City Budgets (APBD) are used to achieve outcomes and benefit the community and are guided by the principles of spending efficiency and effectiveness. Make sure that no budgetary, human, or time resources are wasted," he explained.

Through Musrenbang, Jakarta is certain that people's aspirations will become input material in the preparation of programs and activities, as well as formulating activity programs that have the potential to be funded with funding or financing schemes other than the APBD.

He hoped that the discussion in the Musrenbang forum could be focused on six development priorities, realizing programs, and activities that support Jakarta's Success for Indonesia, and efforts to make Jakarta a Global City.

"Let's make the ambition of Jakarta successful and prepare to become a Global City by mobilizing all thoughts, and ideas as suggestions and input for improving the preparation of the Jakarta 2024 RKPD document," he uttered.

As for the information, the implementation of Provincial Musrenbang is to sharpen regional development priorities in 2024 and align regional development programs and activities with national development goals and priorities in order to enhance Jakarta's role and position as a global city.

This event was conducted offline and online, where it was attended by participants representing various stakeholders including elements from the central government, Forkopimda, and Legislators, as well as ranks of Jakarta Regional Apparatus, Border Regional Governments, universities, experts, organizations international organizations, community organizations, professional associations, the business world, NGOs, and City/District Council representatives.

It is held in two parts, namely Plenary Session and Group Session. The Provincial Musrenbang has gone through a series of processes that capture people's aspirations as input in preparing the Jakarta RKPD draft document.
