Commission D: Bad Contractors will Be Firmly Punished

Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Commission D Chairwoman, Ida Mahmudah says contractors who build reservoirs without carrying out maintenance according to the agreement must be subject to strict sanctions.

Those who are stubborn won't be won again in the bidding process

Such conditions can be seen in the Brigif Reservoir in Jagakarsa built by a contractor yet it is in poor condition.

"We have contacted the Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency to handle this case, including in other infrastructures in Jakarta. It aims to prevent the same case in the future," she expressed, Saturday (4/16).

She explained the reservoir which was built on a 10-hectare land was covered by the 2022 City Budget (APBD). Because of that, she urges the SDA Agency to soon charge the contractor for maintenance of the Brigif Reservoir.

"We tell them to accelerate maintenance rather than waiting for the contractor's maintenance period to end," she asserted.

She even asked Jakarta BPBJ to blacklist contactors who won tenders for procurement of goods and services who did not work professionally, causing the Jakarta Provincial Government to suffer.

"Those who are stubborn won't be won again in the bidding process for the procurement of goods and services at the Jakarta Government. BPBJ must find a professional contractor," she stated.
