"Hopefully, this gathering can strengthen the commitment and synergy of teachers, education staff and relevant stakeholders in improving the quality of education in Indonesia," he expressed, as quoted by PPID's press release, Thursday (5/18).
According to him, the role of PB PGRI, teachers, and educators is very strategic in facing the challenge of the demographic bonus of the Indonesian population in 2030. This demographic bonus has the potential to make future generations the "golden generation" that supports Indonesia's progress or vice versa. Therefore, it needs to be a joint concern if what increases is only in quantity without being accompanied by quality.
Aside that, Jakarta will transform into a global city that functions as the main node in the world economic network and has a direct impact on global socio-economic affairs. This realization can be strengthened through fast and precise efforts in realizing the success of development in Jakarta. It will certainly have a positive impact on progress at the national level.
"We believe that quality education is the main element in producing a smart generation that drives Indonesia's development and progress," he explained.
Jakarta Provincial Government is also consistent in fulfilling equal access to education for all residents through various programs, including Jakarta Smart Plus Card (KJP Plus) and Jakarta Excellent Student Card (KJMU). Even, the government also pays attention to its teaching staff, such as ensuring the continuity of competency improvement, protection, and welfare of teachers and educators in Jakarta.
"Hopefully, PGRI as a professional organization that has a long track record in building the world of education will play an increasingly active role in developing teacher competence and professionalism. So, education in Indonesia will be more advanced and of high quality," he closed.
