Two Komodo Dragons in Ragunan Zoo Named Polita and Juma

Jakarta Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Adviser, Mirdiyanti Budi Hartono and its chairwoman, Endang Lestari Agus gave the names of two Komodo dragons in Ragunan Zoo (TMR), South Jakarta. The female Komodo dragon is named Polita, while the male dragon is named Juma.

Finally, I named them according to PJ, Polita and Juma

Mirdiyanti expressed the names Polita and Juma came from the abbreviation PJ (Pejabat) or Acting.

"Because I accompany Mr. Heru as PJ. Finally, I named them according to PJ, Polita and Juma. Reminding that the Komodo dragon that was born was given a name when I accompanied Mr. Heru as PJ," she expressed, on the sidelines of Jakarta Jumat Barokah DWP, Ragunan Zoo, South Jakarta, Friday (5/26).

Tens of Thousands of Visitors Throng to Ragunan Zoo

She explained Polita means smart and smart, while Juma is because of the name given on Friday.

"Hopefully, they will be healthy and feel at home in the zoo and make benefits for Ragunan Zoo with many visitors," she explained.

She added she was familiar with the zoo since childhood. Until now, it is still the prima donna of Jakarta residents for tourism and educational rides.

"The first time I was here when I was little is still the same today, meaning Ragunan Zoo is always being cared for. Whoever the leader is, taking care of this zoo is like owning it," she admitted.

As for the information, the two Komodo dragons at the zoo are the result of collaboration between conservation organizations, namely Ragunan Wildlife Park and Indonesian Safari Park (TSI) Bogor, which were brought in on March 20, 2023.
