Jakarta's Inflation Rate Increased by 0.24 Percent

Head of Jakarta Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Nyoto Widodo recorded that the capital's inflation rate in the capital in February 2015 increased up to 0.24 percent. There are four expenditure groups which experienced a significant increase.

Those four expenditure groups are residence, water, electricity, gas and fuel (0.94 percent), clothing (0.67 percent), food, beverage, cigarette, and tobacco (0.45 percent), as well as health (0.15 percent).

"Inflation rate in February is increasing 0.24 percent,” he added, Wednesday (3/4)

Meanwhile, there are some commodities which contributed high inflation such as airlines (0.23 percent), logistic (0.14 percent) and electricity rates (0.09 percent).

Such inflation hike is due to rising prices in the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel, especially sub-group of fuel, light and water.

 

Widodo mentioned this month, as many as 12 out of 82 cities have inflation. The highest inflation hit Tual city by 3.20 percent and lower inflation hit Manokrawi city by 0.04 percent.

 “From all cities, Jakarta ranked seventh on a list of the inflation,” he disclosed.
