Free Emission Test in Ragunan Targets 2,000 Vehicles

As many as 2,000 vehicles are targeted to take part in the free emission test service held by Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) in the Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR) parking area, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, Monday (6/5).

Hopefully, Jakarta's air quality will get better

As quoted by Beritajakarta.id, hundreds of vehicles consisting of private cars, operational service vehicles and motorbikes, were seen lining up to get this free emission test service.

Environmental Pollution Management Division Head, Tiyana Brotoadi expressed the emission test itself is held in commemoration of City's 496th anniversary and World Environment Day. It is carried out in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang, and Bekasi areas.

"It is done simultaneously. Specifically in Jakarta, it is centered in Ragunan with a target of 2,000 vehicles and 600 are targeted in the area a day," he expressed.

According to him, it was realized in cooperation with the Jakarta Government with the Environment Ministry, Polda Metro Jaya, and 25 automotive workshops.

He went on to say that it would later become one of the components for imposing sanctions on traffic violators. Because of that, the public is urged to immediately carry out an emission test of their vehicles.

"Hopefully, Jakarta's air quality will get better," he continued.

Until 12 PM, it was recorded that 1,200 vehicles had taken part in the emission test at Ragunan.

"We're optimistic that the target of 2,000 will be achieved today," he said.
