Jakarta Fair Kemayoran Deemed to Boost Jakarta's Economy

The Jakarta Provincial Government positively welcomes the holding of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran which will falls on June 14 - July 16, 2023. This annual grand event is seen as supporting city's economy from a spending or consumption perspective.

Tourism Group, Cooperative, SME, and Economy Worker Bureau Chairwoman, Saraswati said city's economy grew positively by 4.85 percent in 2022. The amount will continuously show a positive trend in the first quarter of 2023, rising to 4.95 percent.
"We thank you very much for Jakarta Fair Kemayoran, as it really supports city economy which is the biggest main component in terms of spending or consumption. Now, it is 4.95 percent in the first quarter of 2023 and we believe that is one of the impacts of holding the fair in 2022," she expressed, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, Thursday (6/8

She also appreciated the fair organizers who provided opportunities for SMEs assisted by the Jakarta Government to participate in the event.
"It has become an annual routine event and we include it as an event that is held regularly to celebrate city's anniversary. In the future, more tenants will be able to join, including music events to attract more visitors which will also encourage tourism in Jakarta," she explained.
Tourism Industry Supervision Sub-Group Chairman, Aras Pamungkas admitted that he was optimistic that tourist visits would increase with the holding of the Jakarta Fair Kemayoran. Along with the revocation of the PPKM policy, events such as concerts and performing arts are finally back after being sluggish, including travel or horeca business (hotels, restaurants, and cafes).
"The challenge is how to invite tourists to come to Jakarta. Hopefully, the method of holding events or activating public spaces will attract local and foreign tourists to visit Jakarta," he concluded.
To further enliven it, his party would invite creative artists to hold a concert.
