JAJ Automotive Community to Enliven Jakarta's 496th Anniversary

The Jakarta American Jeep (JAJ) automotive community will join in celebrating Jakarta's 496th anniversary by holding City Touring.

JAJ Chairman, Wko Marabunta said the City Tour will be held on Saturday (6/24).

"This is a form of our participation as an association domiciled in Jakarta to celebrate Jakarta's 496th anniversary," he expressed, Monday (6/19).

According to him, these old Jeep vehicles also became part of the nation's history, including Jakarta.

"We're helping to preserve the cars from the old days of struggle. Later, the parade will start from Monas area. God willing, the parade will be released by the Acting Governor," he explained.

He added it was planned that this event would also be attended by Lt. Gen. TNI (Purn) Mulyo Aji who had served as Commander of Jayakarta Regional Military Command in 2021-2022.

"He currently serves as Chairman of the American Jeep Indonesia Enthusiasts Association. Then, there is also the Steering Committee Mr. Soni Sumarsono who once served as Acting Governor," he explained.

JAC City Touring Committee Chairman, Andy Pantjoro uttered the Abang None Jakart would also enliven the parade while wearing Betawi traditional clothing.

"It is also possible that students or children will join the car during the parade wearing Betawi traditional clothing. We cooperate with the Jakarta Cultural Agency, including to present Betawi cultural arts performances on the entertainment stage," he explained.

He continued around 182 American Jeep vehicle owners have been confirmed to take part in this event.

"We also invite other communities from Jabodetabek. However, still limiting the number of participants to maintain the comfort of participants and road users," he added.

In the future, he hoped, the JAJ could continue to be involved in similar events or activities in the coming year and could provide many contributions to Jakarta.

"This is the first time we have held activities to celebrate Jakarta's anniversary with City Touring. If there is a colossal carnival activity, we are also ready to support and enliven it. Moreover, we can also invite many of our friends from other regions," he stated.
