East Jakarta Mayor: Kampung Rambutan Utara Reservoir must Be Deepened

East Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar says that the Kampung Rambutan Utara Reservoir in RW 06 Rambutan Urban Village, Ciracas, must be deepened more in a bid to increase its capacity.

The statement above was conveyed when he monitored the reservoir condition together with Ciracas Sub-district Headz Alamsyah; Rambutan Urban Village Head, Ikhwan M Ali; and several related officials, Tuesday (6/20).

"I noticed that this reservoir is shallow and has only a small capacity. Lots of mud there," he expressed.

According to him, there needs to be additional heavy equipment for dredging the Kampung Rambutan Utara Reservoir. Thus, the results are maximized and as expected for flood control in East Jakarta.

"This reservoir is one of the flood controllers in Cipinang River and Sunter River areas," he stated.

Ideally, this reservoir is dredged to a minimum depth of six meters. However, currently the maximum depth of the reservoir is only three meters, so it needs to be deepened further.

"There needs to be acceleration and progress in dredging this reservoir," he concluded.

His party would continuously monitor the condition of the reservoirs in his area. Including when there is a puddle, where the source of the cause will be seen and the best solution will be sought.
