Betawi Culinary Festival on April 16-22, Be There!

The culinary festival in Kota Tua aims to amuse Jakartans and conserve nation culture

In order to celebrate 61st anniversary of the Women's Organization Cooperation Board (BKOW), there will be the Betawi Culinary Festival at Kota Tua, West Jakarta, on April 16-22, 2015. Besides that, there are also cheap market and blood donor activity.

“The culinary festival in Kota Tua aims to amuse Jakartans and conserve nation culture. Kota Tua is a cultural heritage of the Dutch colonial heritage that must be preserved. We also have to conserve Betawian culinary, because people tend to eat junk food in this modern era than traditional food,” said Jakarta BKOW Chairwoman, Farida Hidayat, on the sidelines of the BKOW's meeting along with members in the BKOW building, Jalan Raden Inten Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, Thursday (3/12).

As for the blood donor, will be centered in the BKOW building with target 1,000 blood bags. To achieve it, her side is cooperating with Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and Jakarta Health Department. Then, the cheap market which cooperates with Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUKMP) Department will prepare cheap staple food coupons for poor families which spread in 5 areas in Jakarta.
