As many as nine Jakarta Bodybuilding athletes will take part in the Qualification Round or Pre-National Sports Week (PON) XXI. The PON Qualification Round will take place in Bengkulu on July 26, 2023.

Hopefully, in Pre-PON Bengkulu, our athletes can win many medals

Jakarta Fitness Bodybuilding Association Provincial Board (Pengprov PBFI) General Chairperson, Estepanus asked the athletes who took part in the PON Prequalification to fight hard and be enthusiastic about giving the best achievements for Jakarta.

"Various preparations for PON XXI, we will prepare and go through as well as possible. Hopefully, in Pre-PON Bengkulu, our athletes can win many medals," he expressed, during the Bodybuilding Legendary Joint Body Check event and Departure of the 2024 PON Prequalification Round Contingent, at d'Arcici Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (7/26).

In holding PON XXI which will take place in Aceh and North Sumatera, the Jakarta Pengprov PBFI is targeting to get at least one gold medal.

"I ask for prayers for all Jakarta residents, thus our athletes can gain gold medals, both during the PON Prequalification and PON," he explained.

Jakarta KONI Sports Science and Technology Field Division Chairman, Firmansyah also hoped that the bodybuilding athletes who would compete in the PON Prequalification could win gold medals and win the title of General Champion.

"I remind them that practice is a must and an important factor in achieving achievement. It's been a long time since bodybuilding won gold in PON, with the spirit of Jakarta Datang, Jakarta Menang (Jakarta Comes, Jakarta Wins), we hope that next year we can get gold," he explained.

He added Jakarta KONI is committed to fostering athletes from an early age, thus Jakarta is expected to have no shortage of outstanding athletes.

"We have PPOP, PPLM to Pelatda. We do this in stages" he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, a bodybuilding athlete for the mens sport physique class over 170 centimeters, Riski Legiatma said, for the PON Prequalification, he had made special preparations for approximately three months.

"I'm optimistic that I will win a gold medal in Bengkulu, thus I can advance and excel at PON," he said.
