Council's Rp 12 T Budget still Refused, Ahok Says

After 2015 City Budget draft was evaluated by Home Affairs Ministry, House's Budget Committee (Banggar) together with Budget Drafting Team (TPAD) will discuss the evaluation result for 7 days. But, if there is no agreement from the both side, Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) will use 2014 budget cap that is inserted in Governor Regulation to be passed by Home Affairs Minister (Mendagri).

"I guess if we use 2014 budget, the council would hold tight monitoring. This is good because the council's oversight function can be useful," said Basuki at City Hall, Thursday (3/12).
He revealed that the problem of city budget after reformation is largely wasted by unscrupulous executive and legislative.

"We offered city council to issue bylaw. But, if they insist to insert Rp 12.1 trillion into budget, we will reject it because all program are unsuitable," he told firmly.
Basuki continued, he guessed the stealth budget was inserted by person without discussion with Provincial Working Unit and commission's board.
"We don't have proof at the past and we can't upload the video on YouTube because the commission and Provincial Working Unit discussion went chaotic. So, I was patient until Mr. Jokowi becomes president," he explained.
He added, his side can't insert the activity without discussion into e-budgeting system again.
"So, there will be no more tolerance in 2015. By the end of 2014, we inserted all activities into e-budgeting system to see how much deviation in 2014," he added.
