550 Satpol PP Personnel to Strengthen Security for MGMAC and AMF 2023

As many as 550 Jakarta Satpol PP personnel will be deployed to secure the 2023 Meeting of Governors and Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC) and the ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF).

We expect the participation of Jakarta residents in maintaining security and public order

Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Arifin, said the security measures in place would be in the form of guarding, monitoring, and patrolling.

"Security will be carried out from July 31  - August 3, 2023 to anticipate the possibility of disturbances to the tramtibum (peace and public order) at the locations the delegates will visit," he expressed, Monday (7/31).

In its implementation, Satpol PP officers also coordinate with various elements to ensure that the event runs smoothly without interruption.

"We also coordinate with the army (TNI) - police, and other security elements to help make the event a success," he continued.

Apart from the personnel on duty to secure the event location, he emphasized that other personnel are still on duty throughout the Jakarta area in order to maintain the comfort of the delegates.

He also appealed to all Jakarta residents to jointly participate in maintaining security and public order.

"We expect the participation of Jakarta residents in maintaining security and public order. Show Jakarta's identity as an orderly and cultured city, as well as a friendly host for delegates from city leaders throughout Southeast Asia," he concluded.

The MGMAC and AMF 2023 events will be held on August 1-2, 2023 in the Gelora Bung Karno area, Central Jakarta. MGMAC is a gathering of governors and mayors from the capital cities of various ASEAN countries to share experiences, strengthen relations, and overcome common challenges in urban development.
