Acting Governor Heru Inaugurates ASEAN Park

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono invited governors and mayors of Southeast Asian countries to inaugurate the ASEAN Park on Jalan Pattimura, Selong Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru Sub-district, South Jakarta, Wednesday (8/2) afternoon.

Besides inaugurating the park, tree planting was also held with the governors and mayors of several countries after attending the 2023 Meeting of Governors and Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC) and ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF).
Based on Beritajakarta.id, the Acting Governor together with governors and mayors of ASEAN countries compactly wearing white t-shirts and shoes arrived at the location and were transported by Transjakarta electric bus at around 4.30 PM.

Jakarta Actiny Governor, Heru Budi Hartono said the park and tree planting inauguration is a symbol that ASEAN countries agreed to reduce carbon emissions and make their cities green.
"As well as togetherness to build the city with the construction of green buildings and green cities," he expressed, after inaugurating the park and planting trees.
According to him, the governors and mayors of ASEAN countries welcomed and supported the steps taken by the Jakarta Provincial Government in an effort to make the city green by planting trees.
"I conveyed to them that I plant trees every week. Hopefully, it can be followed by regional heads of other countries," he added.
Then some of the ornaments in the ASEAN Park are symbols of friendship between countries which mark the characteristics of cities in Southeast Asian countries.
"The ornamental design is full of characteristics, there are elephants, flowers, indicating friendly cities or countries," he stated.
