Jakarta DPRD Receives Working Visit from Vietnam's Hanoi Parliament

The Legislative Council (DPRD) from Hanoi, Vietnam held a working visit (kunker) to Jakarta DPRD in the context of consulting on the construction of the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) train.

The delegation of Hanoi, Vietnam parliament was received directly by Jakarta DPRD Chairpersons, Khoirudin and Rany Mauliani, as well as Jakarta DPRD Commission A Secretary, Karyatin Subiantoro at City Council building, Monday (8/7).

Hanoi DPRD Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said his party is currently planning the construction of an MRT train to overcome congestion in Hanoi city.

"We came to Jakarta to see and make the Jakarta MRT train as an example, thus later similar facilities can be built in the city of Hanoi," he expressed.

He and members of Hanoi DPRD hoped that they could experience directly riding the Jakarta MRT train, which currently has 13 stations with a track length of 16 kilometers.

Jakarta DPRD Vice Chairman, Khoirudin stated his party was pleased to receive a visit from Hanoi, Vietnam parliament to learn about the development of Jakarta MRT mass transportation mode.

"Hopefully what we learned today can be implemented in Hanoi, thus the traffic jam problem can be resolved," he added.

Jakarta DPRD Commission A Secretary, Karyatin S uttered the geographical conditions and habits of the people of Jakarta and Hanoi have similarities.

"Hopefully, the similarity of the contours of the land and the habits of the people, there will be many similarities that can be obtained as lessons to be applied in Hanoi," she closed.
