Acting Governor: Elected Abang None Jakarta Must Contribute to the Progress of Jakarta

Jakarta Acting Governor, Heru Budi Hartono attended the Abang None beauty pageant final last night at Ciputra Artpreneur, South Jakarta, Thursday (9/7).

He opened the event accompanied by the Acting Chair of Jakarta Provincial Handicrafts Council (Dekranasda) Acting Head, Mirdiyanti.

"Congratulations to the finalists who have gone through various selection processes, in the assessment stage, for successfully participating in the Abang None Jakarta Final Night. By saying Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, the event will officially begin," he expressed, in the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.

He wanted all the finalists to present the best performance as the winner would represent Jakarta, especially in the tourism, creative economy, and culture sectors.

"I hope tonight will be an unforgettable moment and be the start of a journey to contribute positively to the city of Jakarta," he expressed.

Then he assessed that it was not just a place to find new faces, but it is a representation of the spirit, energy, and young generation of Jakarta who love Betawi culture and strive to preserve it.

"Abang None Jakarta 2023 has the responsibility to represent a superior generation that will bring a better future to Jakarta to face the challenges of global competition. Hence, keep doing self-development, understanding priorities, and communicating the development achievements of the City of Jakarta to the public. In fact, the experience, knowledge, and network gained in this event will be the provision to contribute to the development of Jakarta and Indonesia in the future," he concluded.

There were 36 finalists of Abang None Jakarta or 18 pairs who are the top three winners in this year's Abang None Jakarta at the City/Regency Level.

They had undergone a debriefing period starting from August 11, 2023, to September 1, 2023. The material provided was public speaking and Master of Ceremony (MC), Betawi Culture, Tourism and Hospitality, Tour Guides, Journalism and Social Media, Creative Economy, Jakarta Culinary, Protocol, Entrepreneurship, and many more.

As for the information, the Abang None beauty pageant final night was also attended by City Secretary, Joko Agus Setyono; Jakarta Tourism and Culture Deputy Governor, Marullah Matali; Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Head, Agency Andhika Permata; and ranks of the Jakarta Government.
