As well as assisting public bodies in encouraging the implementation of public information openness at the central and regional levels," he expressed.
He explained that it was hoped that IKIP could be a catalyst in encouraging the implementation of open public information at all levels of government evenly, including providing input and recommendations for the community to participate in the preparation of development policies and programs.
"IKIP is also expected to provide reports on the achievement of public information openness in Indonesia as the main material for the government to present in international forums and being taken into consideration in determining the direction of national policies that have a positive influence on national and foreign investment," he explained.
KI's Research and Documentation Division Chairperson, Rospita Vici Paulyn who is also responsible for implementing IKIP explained that openness of public information is a necessity in various aspects of life.
Moreover, after the enactment of Law Number 14/2008 on Openness of Public Information, the idea of presenting correct, accurate, and responsible public information became inevitable.
"Awareness of the importance of providing public information for society encourages the government and public bodies to make various breakthroughs to provide quality and needed information," she explained.
She went on to say that the IKIP preparation was the Central Information Commission's answer to obtaining data, facts, and information related to the Indonesian government's efforts to carry out its obligations.
"As a helicopter view, IKIP photographs public bodies from provincial to district/city levels in Indonesia, to obtain data and facts about how public information disclosure is implemented in 34 provinces of Indonesia," she continued.
She added the IKIP/2023 journey process started in January, starting with the preparation of the legal basis, determining regional working groups, technical guidance to all regional working groups in 34 provinces, determining regional expert informants, collecting factual data, FDG in 34 provinces, and ending with the National Assessment Council (NAC) until the publication of the 2023 Public Information Openness Index results book.
"All of this is a joint work of the entire large family of information commissions in Indonesia and cannot be separated from collaboration with other related agencies," she added.
Jakarta Diskominfotik's Public Information Division Head, Raides Aryanto uttered that the award from KIP is a trigger to continue to innovate in public information services for people with disabilities.
"We're committed to providing equal access to information for all, including people with disabilities," he explained.
He assessed the Jakarta Government had developed public information services for people with disabilities, in particular broadcasting news videos on the Jakarta Government's official news website Beritajakarta.id using sign language to fulfill the information needs of deaf people.
"All access information channels in Jakarta, namely Beritajakarta.id and Jakarta.go.id, are currently using accessibility access with a sign depicting a person carrying a wheelchair. People with disabilities who click on the sign can hear the text content in sound form," he stated.
