Joint Personnel Deployed to Hold Emissions Test on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan

Joint personnel from the Jakarta Environment Agency (LH) and Transportation Agency (Dishub), as well as police, held a vehicle emissions test raid on Jalan Perintis Independen, Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village, Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Wednesday (11/1).

We hope public awareness increases

Jakarta LH Agency Head, Asep Kuswanto said the emissions test raid until this afternoon is a continuation of the raid held last September. Hence, the sanction would be given to the two- and four-wheeled vehicles that fail emissions.

"We hope public awareness increases," he expressed.

According to the Road Traffic and Transportation Law, vehicles that do not pass will be subject to a penalty amounting to Rp 250,000 for two-wheeled vehicles and Rp 500,000 for four-wheeled vehicles.

In the future, the emissions test will be intensified and routinely carried out two to three times every week.

"It will be held at five spots. Besides Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, there are four other spots," he stated.
