Some 50 joint personnel of the East Jakarta Environment Sub-agency, Transportation Sub-agency, Satpol PP, and Resort Police Traffic Region Unit hold an emissions test on Jalan Raya Pemuda, Jatinegara Kaum Urban Village, Pulogadung, East Jakarta, Wednesday (11/1).

East Jakarta Traffic Region Unit's Security and Safety Unit Chief, AKP Budi Lestari explained vehicles that have not undergone an emissions test will be subject to a fine by Rp 250,000 for two-wheeled vehicles and Rp 500,000 for four-wheeled vehicles.
"Violators were immediately ticketed because socialization had been held beforehand," he stated.
It was aimed to encourage people to be aware of the dangers of air pollution because the current condition is that the level of air pollution is quite high, one of which is caused by motor vehicle exhaust emissions.
He mentioned it would be held four times on Jalan Pemuda and Jalan Raden Inten Duren Sawit, East Jakarta on November 1, 3, 17, and 20.
"These locations were chosen because they are strategic and wide," he stated.
