All ranks of Jakarta Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) and public figures, gathered to create conducive, safe, and comfortable conditions in Jakarta ahead of the election.
The elections in Jakarta will be successful, safe, fair, and peaceful
Jakarta Acting Governor, Budi Hartono together with Polda Metro Jaya Chief, Ir. Gen. Pol. Karyoto and Pangdam Jaya, Maj. Gen. TNI M Hasan with his rank opened a meeting to establish optimal synergy.
He appreciated this meeting, as it was deemed important as a first step in creating a healthy election atmosphere.
Munjirin: ASN Must Hold Neutrality in Elections"The General Election Commission (KPU) and the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) have determined the points (potentially vulnerable), thus it becomes safe and conducive" he expressed, at the Metro Jaya Meeting Hall (BPMJ), South Jakarta, Monday (11/13).
He assessed one of the big challenges often faced during elections is hoax news that damages the reputation of other parties. Hence, it was important to synergize with various parties close to the community in order to ensure a smooth election process.
"We have to sort out the news that is actually a hoax, thus we can ignore it. Once again our hope is that through religious and community leaders we can provide the best information for the community," he explained, as quoted by the Jakarta Provincial Government's press release.
Then the Jakarta Government committed to upholding professionalism by being neutral, especially for the State Civil Apparatus (ASN).
"They (ASN) definitely have fixed rules and procedures, so they are expected to carry out their duties with professionalism. Of course, we also do this to create comfort for residents in the upcoming elections," he added.
He appealed to the public to play an active role in maintaining peace and security in Jakarta during the elections.
Hopefully, public figures and religious leaders could make a positive contribution in resolving differences of opinion that may arise during the campaign and general election process.
"It can't be separated from Jakarta's position as a barometer of economic, social, defense, and security politics in Indonesia. Jakarta has a big responsibility in maintaining election integrity based on the election Vulnerability Index. Bawaslu has also determined and placed Jakarta as the area most prone to disturbances. So, we need mitigation and early detection measures to prevent potential vulnerabilities from spreading and disrupting stability," he explained.
He eas optimistic that the Jakarta Government was able to oversee the election process well, thus it could become a barometer of healthy and mature national democracy.
"We have proven that the election in Jakarta was peaceful, safe, quality, and dignified, with hard work, sincerity and prayer. I'm confident that the elections in Jakarta will be successful, safe, fair, and peaceful," he closed.
