JIS Becomes U-17 World Cup Venue, Jakpro Appreciates Support from All Parties

The Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) was chosen as the venue for the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 along with Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium in Surabaya, Manahan Stadium in Solo, and Si Jalak Harupat Stadium in Bandung Regency.

JIS Stadium is the venue for the matches in the group phases C, D, E, and F. Further, it will be the venue for the round of 16 (round of sixteen) on November 22, 2023, and the quarter-finals (quarter final) on November 24, 2023.

There will be 16 matches over 14 days or the most among the three other stadiums. Teams with a long football history such as Brazil, England, France, Germany, and Argentina played at JIS Stadium in the group phase.

Jakpro CEO, Iwan Takwin said the match at JIS Stadium is a special event for football fans, especially football fans in Indonesia, to see potential world football stars.

PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) expressed its appreciation for the support provided by all parties in organizing the FIFA U-17 World Cup. One of the appreciations went to PSSI for providing the opportunity from the start of planning for the JIS Stadium to become part of the proud stadium that holds the world championship.

Jakpro also expressed its thanks to the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing for its support in the construction of the Pedestrian Bridge (JPO) which connects the North side of JIS and Ancol.

He also welcomed the full support of all Jakarta Provincial Government officials for the preparations and needs for holding the match, including security and traffic management around JIS, together with the local police.

"Also Jakarta BUMD, PT Jakarta Transportation, and PT Jakarta Tourisindo, for their support in providing Transjakarta public transportation facilities and Media Information Center Facilities at Hotel d'Arcici Sunter," he explained.
