Waste Handling Unit (UPS) Supervisor, Bily Sagala said, the waste filter is installed on 7,048-square-meter land.

He explained the 230-cubic-meter waste collected were wood, rubber, plastic, textiles, glass, and metal. They were then sorted, then processed into raw materials for compost and Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF).
"Processed waste usually produces 43 percent compost and 53 percent RDF and the rest is residue," he explained.
Until November 2023, waste processing at this location was recorded as having converted 145,290 kg of waste into RDF which could later be used as an alternative fuel to replace coal.
"Waste handling will be intensified. The high intensity of rain has the potential to trigger waste shipments from upstream," he stated.
