The Jakarta Maritime Museum and Pelita Harapan University (UPH) Management Unit, held an exhibition on the Interior Design of the Onrust Archaeological Museum at the Maritime Museum, Penjaringan, North Jakarta. This exhibition runs from December 12, 2023 to January 12, 2024.

Jakarta Culture Agency Secretary, Imam Hadi Purnomo revealed the exhibition entitled A Journey to Mooi Indie displays interior design work in the development of the Onrust Archaeological Museum, especially in terms of structuring the area design and improving the museum's facilities and infrastructure.
"This museum is not only a cultural heritage area, but also a very interesting maritime tourism destination," he expressed, Wednesday (12/13).

Jakarta Maritime Museum Technical Unit Head, Mis'ari explained the Onrust Archaeological Museum functions as a means of information and publication of the history of archaeological remains on Onrust Island, Cipir Island, Kelor Island, and Bidadari Island.
Objects from excavations from the three islands were also displayed, as well as archeology in the form of buildings, structures and sites on the islands.
"Visitors can see works that show the beauty of modern design meets deep historical values," he explained.
The design work on display was not just an aesthetic display, but also to harmonize the historic area with today's demands, while still maintaining and respecting existing historical traces.
"We invite visitors to come together to appreciate and support the development of local wisdom and sustainability through this innovative interior design," he stated.
