Approaching Christmas Holidays, Homecomers Pack Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal

Although the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays are still a week away, the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, East Jakarta, is starting to be packed with travelers, Monday (12/18). They departed using AKAP buses to several areas in West Java, Central Java, and Sumatra.

Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal Head, Yulza Ramadhoni said the Kampung Rambutan Terminal was also packed with some arrivals from various regions. As planned, the Homecoming Flow Command Post would be operational on Tuesday (12/19).

"Thus, passengers departing or arriving today are not yet included in the calculation of the Christmas homecoming flow," he expressed.

According to him, the number of passengers departing via the Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal from 7 AM to 2 PM reached 238 passengers using 30 buses.

Most headed to Cirebon, Cianjur, Kuningan, Brebes, Tegal, Pekalongan, Purwokerto, Lampung, and other areas. On the other hand, the number of passenger arrivals was actually higher, which reached 1,267 passengers arrived using 142 buses.

Jakarta Transportation Agency's Terminal Technical Unit Head, Syamsul Mirwan added the post will open from tomorrow until January 3, 2024. It would be guarded by joint personnel from elements of the army (TNI), police, Health Agency, BNNP, Jasa Raharja, and Pulogadung UP PKB.

"We also provide a waiting room there. Joint personnel will be on standby. Meanwhile, the Pulogadung UP PKB officers will hold ramp checks of vehicles on the AKAP bus departure route," he uttered.

On December 23, a free homecoming would also be held by the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).
