Joint Personnel Beef Up Security Ahead of Christmas and Year-end Holidays

East Jakarta Deputy Mayor, Iin Mutmainah, instructed the Satpol PP, Transportation Sub-agency, Kesbangpol, and other related units, to secure the area ahead of the Christmas, New Year, and elections 2024.

The statement above was delivered when she led the executive meeting with OPD, Metro Resort Police, Kodim 0505 JT, KPU representatives, Bawaslu, FKUB, BNN Kota, state prosecutor's office, in the Pattern Room of the East Jakarta Mayor's Office, Tuesday (12/12).

"We fully support security from Christmas' Eve and New Year until the elections," she explained.

In East Jakarta, there was a lot of potential for crowds to arise during Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations, so security needed to be put in place, thus residents felt safe and comfortable.

"We will minimize negative things on Christmas and New Year's Eve," she asserted.

East Jakarta Metro Resort Police Chief, Com. Pol. Leonardus Harapantua Simarmata Permata added the security was focused on churches and tourist attractions, as well as points prone to traffic jams.

It would involve national army (TNI), Satpol PP, and elements of society, and other related levels.

"Places that must be secured are places of worship or musala, tourist attractions, and locations prone to traffic jams," he closed.
