Welcoming New Year 2024, Jakarta Holds Muda-Mudi Jakarta Global City

To welcome the New Year 2024, the Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared various interesting events with the theme 'Malam Muda-Mudi Jakarta Global City' on December 31, 2023 along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin.

There are 11 entertainment stages spread along the Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin

Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency Head, Andhika Permata said this event was presented for all residents who wanted to enjoy New Year's Eve in Jakarta.

"There are 11 entertainment stages spread along the Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin and the New Year celebration culminates on the main stage at the Bundaran Hotel Indonesia featuring artists from the capital. Hopefully, all residents in Jakarta can spend New Year's Eve joyfully," he expressed, at Ganara Art, 6th floor of Plaza Indonesia in the Jakarta PPID Press Release, Sunday (12/24).

By carrying out the Car Free Night concept, residents would be pampered with various activities such as the Gemilang Silang Monas show, video mapping, entertainment stages, and the Jakarnaval parade which will feature 10 Jakarta IP-Based Characters, namely the Jakarta Mascot-JeKaTe, Fun Cican, Our Happiness, Cute Monster, Si Juki, Si Unyil, Sayuti Koboi Betawi, Sri Asih, Si Buta dari Gua Hantu, and Satria Dewa Gatot Kaca.

There would also be performances of various musical genres, humanoid performances (human statues), and various other artistic activities at entertainment stage locations at several points. Various synergies with stakeholders were also carried out, such as Cityvision, Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association (APPBI), and Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI).

Jakarta Health Agency (Dinkes) Head, Ani Ruspitawati stated anticipatory emergencies would be prepared, such as providing ambulances, health service posts, medical officers at entertainment stage locations, and coordinating ambulance readiness at the nearest regional hospital.

"We have deployed 88 medical officers, 16 car ambulances, 15 motorbike ambulances and 2 bike ambulances, as well as mobile health services using scooters to facilitate health services for residents and anticipate emergencies if an emergency occurs," she expressed.

Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises Agency (MSME) Head, Ratu Rante Allo said his party would provide 42 electricity stalls occupied by 84 MSMEs at the bazaar.

"We'll also do food safety testing on MSME food products to ensure that it is safe to consume and free from dangerous ingredients," she explained.

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) Head, Syafrin Liputo said his party had coordinated with related stakeholders to support the success of the New Year's Eve celebration event.

He explained Car Free Day on December 31 would be replaced with Car Free Night with gradual road closures.

"We've prepared 24 parking lots spread throughout the activity area. Roads that are closed start from Bundaran Patung Kuda (Horse Statue) to Bundaran Senayan. To make this event a success, all access to this road will be closed and is situational," he explained.

Jakarta Satpol PP's Community Protection Sector Head, Heri Purnama said there were 1,270 joint personnel were on standby at 11 entertainment stage locations, 53 points along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, and five city-level areas. It aimed at anticipating violations of peace and public order, securing events around the stage, as well as assisting in blocking or controlling motorcycles.

"We also send personnel in each administrative city. 52 complaint posts have been set up for residents to report violations or public order disturbances during the event," he added.

Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association Chairman, Mualim Wijaya uttered his party had informed hotel members located along Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin to participate in opening a sidewalk cafe in the front hall which borders the main road. Discounts on overnight stays at several hotels and midnight sales at several shopping centers in Jakarta are also being offered to further enliven the New Year's Eve 2024 celebrations.

"Midnight sales are presented in several shopping centers such as Plaza Senayan, Season City, Lippo Plaza Kramat Jati, Central Park Mall, Neo Soho Mall, and Grand Indonesia. It is all presented, thus residents can celebrate New Year's Eve in Jakarta with joy," he uttered.

Residents can also celebrate New Year's Eve at several leading tourist destinations, such as Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Kota Tua area, Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, and Pantai Indah Kapuk. Here are locations for the 'Malam Muda-Mudi Jakarta Global City' event at the city/district level:

• North Jakarta Mayor's Office Courtyard (North Jakarta)

• West Jakarta Mayor's Office Courtyard (West Jakarta)

• Setu Babakan Betawi Cultural Village (South Jakarta)

• Old Shanghai, Cakung (East Jakarta)

• Untung Jawa Island (Seribu Islands)
