He added Christmas and New Year celebrations had become part of a tradition that had implications for increasing community mobility. Based on the Transportation Ministry's survey, the potential for community movement this Christmas is estimated to reach 107.603 million people or rose by 143.65 percent compared to the previous year.
Moreover, this celebration also coincides with the 2024 election campaign period, so there is a higher potential for vulnerability.
"Personnel in the field must monitor and make quick and accurate decisions, as well as work integratedly," he stressed.
The same statement also came out from National Army (TNI) Head, Lt. Gen. Bambang Ismawan. According to him, today's ceremony was important to see, check, and ensure readiness in facing the noble task of creating a sense of security, calm, and order, including creating a conducive climate.
"Hopefully, the equipment prepared is truly ready to operate and each personnel understands and masters their duties and functions," he stated.
He asserted that they must maintain their attitude and commitment to always stand tall above all groups. Including abandoning personal interests and having the aim of uniting ethnic, religious, racial, and inter-group groups to create peace in society.
"We must work together to face every force that wants to disrupt the unity and unity of the Indonesian nation," he added.
As for the information, in this year's Christmas celebration, there will be around 79,000 personnel of police assisted by 59,000 personnel of TNI spread over Indonesia.
