Thousands of Tourists Flock to Monas Area

Tourist visits to the National Monument (Monas), Gambir, Central Jakarta are recorded still high in the Christmas 2023 holiday season.

Predictably, until night, the number will keep increasing

It can be seen from Sunday (12/24) until this afternoon, the number of tourists who visit the Monas has touched 161,333 people.

Monas Technical Executing Unit Head, Muhammad Isa Sarnuri said the number of tourists would continue to increase because visitors were still arriving.

From 6 AM to 12 PM, as many as 4,508 visitors visited the monument and the Monas areas. Meanwhile, on Sunday (12/24), the number of visitors touched 156,825 people.

"Predictably, until night, the number will keep increasing. Besides locals, we also see tourists from Germany, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, and China," he expressed, Sunday (12/25).

He explained the visit counter to the Monas Monument closed at 5 PM. As for the Monas area is operated until 10 PM. This holiday season, visitors will be entertained with video mapping performances of monuments and dancing fountains which will be held until December 31.

With the increase in the number of visitors, he continues to urge tourists via loudspeakers to maintain cleanliness and not damage plants in the Monas area.

"Hundreds of cleaning officers have been alerted to clean up the scattered garbage. It includes internal security officers, Satpol PP, army (TNI), and police in order to make the Monas area remain conducive," he closed.
