BPBD: Residents Must Anticipate Weather Conditions on New Year's Eve

The Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) warns residents to anticipate the possibility of light rain on New Year's Eve.

Jakarta BPBD Head, Isnawa Adji stated residents should stay away from shady trees when enjoying New Year's Eve.

"BMKG predicts light rain throughout Jakarta. Don't forget to bring an umbrella or raincoat," he said, Sunday (12/31).

New Year's Eve 2024, LRT Extends its Operating Hours to 2 AM

According to him, the weather conditions and potential for hydrometeorological disasters this year were different from last year, which had seen high rainfall intensity since the previous two weeks.

"Weather conditions on New Year's Eve are more conducive than last year," he expressed.

Even though the weather is predicted to be quite conducive, he still urges residents to be alert and not to be careless about various potential disasters around their respective environments.

"We send 400 personnel on New Year's Eve celebration. Residents who need emergency medical services, or there is an incident in the area, please call 112," he asserted.

The same statement also came out from Jakarta Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) Head, Satriadi Gunawan.

"Then don't burn garbage or other flammable materials. Also, pay attention to fire when using cooking utensils," he stressed.
