New Year Celebration, 15,402 Tourists Swarm Seribu Islands

Throughout the New Year holidays, as many as 15,402 tourists have visited recreational spots in Seribu Islands.

We'll also continue to develop interesting and entertainment spots

Seribu Islands Tourism and Creative Economy Sub-agency Head, Sonti Pangaribuan said most tourists came from four departure points, namely, Muara Angke, Ancol Marina, Tanjung Pasir, and Citius piers.

"On December 31, as many as 12,078 tourists visited the Seribu Islands area. Thrn there were 3,324 tourists on January 2024," he expressed, Wednesday (3/1).

He detailed tourist visits via Muara Angke Pier reached 7,073 people, Marina Ancol 2,311 people, Tanjung Pasir 5,625 people, and Cituis Pier 393 people.

"Most tourists visit inhabited islands which have interesting facilities and events for tourists such as bazaars, entertainment stages, and group prayers," he explained.

On New Year's Eve in Seribu Islands, many interesting events were held. There was Malam Muda Mudi Festival stages on Untung Jawa Island and Panggang Island.

"There is also entertainment that highlights local wisdom on Kelapa Island. It is held to facilitate tourists and residents to celebrate the New Year with joy," he explained.

With the visit of tens of thousands of tourists, it was expected to bring a positive impact on improving the economy of residents in Seribu Islands. So, its residents could become more independent, advanced, and prosperous.

"Hopefully, the Seribu islands will become more famous and crowded with more tourists. We'll also continue to develop interesting and entertainment spots for the people," he stated.
