The Jakarta Organization of Land Transportation Owners (Organda) proposed for the increase in public transport fares in Jakarta amounted to Rp 500. It follows government decree in increase of subsidized fuel (BBM) by Rp 500 since March 28, 2015. The proposal will be sent to Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok) soon.

Head of Jakarta Representatives Council (DPD)'s Organda, Shafruhan Sinungan stated his side will propose the fare increase up to Rp 500 for minivan or mikrolet in the city. While for other public transports, its rate would proposed with difference nominal.
"The previous mikrolet fare was Rp 3.500 and then increased to Rp 4,000. Lower fare proposal for mikrolet is Rp 4,000 that refers to premium Rp 7,400 to Rp 7,700. While the upper fare is amounting to Rp 5,000 that refers to premium Rp 7,750 to Rp 8,500," he explained, Wednesday (4/1).
The proposal of lower and upper fares aims to anticipate the central government to increase or decrease premium and solar fuel price. It is predicted that there will be premium hike this April.
As for the regular city bus, its fare is only Rp 200 from Rp 3,800 to Rp 4,000. Then the intercity interprovincial (AKAP) bus is not yet set, yet it is predicted would increase 20 percent from the initial fare.
For taxi fare, there is no hike, which is upper fare Rp 8,500 and lower fare Rp 7,500. The calculation of the public transport fares is Organda's proposal that will be continued to the governor in the near future.
As known, the government re-increased diesel and premium fuel fares for regions outside Java, Madura, and Bali where its amount reached Rp 500 per liter from the initial rate. Diesel fuel fare has been increased Rp 6,900 from Rp 6,400 per liter, premium RON 88 from Rp 7,300 from Rp 6.800 per liter. While Java, Madura, and Bali, premium fare has increased Rp 7,400 per liter from Rp 6.900. Lastly, diesel fuel fare in Java, Madura, Bali, is still the same with regions outside Java, Madura, Bali, which is Rp 6,900 per liter.
