City Waits Organda's Letter to Adjust Public Transportation Tariff

Jakarta Provincial Government still wait official letter from Jakarta Land Transportation Owners Organization (Organda) to adjust the public transportation tariff after the raise of fuel price since March 28. However, the public transport managers in the capital were banned to raise their tariff before the official verdict issued by the Government.

Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidajat admitted that his side still wait the letter from Organda related to the public transportation tariff rise. "For the tariff raise, his side will propose the number first before it decided by the Governor," told Djarot at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (3/30).

Djarot added, the public transportation in capital is still using the old tariff because his side not yet receives the proposal from Organda.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Organda Head, Shafruhan Sinungan claimed not determine public transport tariff adjustment. He will hold a meeting with entire public transport management on Tuesday (3/31). "We will hold meeting tomorrow, we do not know if there are any tariff adjustment or not," said Sinungan.

As known, the government adjusted the fuel price of Rp 500 per liter from the old price. The price of diesel rose to Rp 6,900 per liter from Rp 6,400 per liter. Meanwhile, the fuel price premium rose to Rp 7,400 per liter of the initial price of Rp 6,900 per liter.
