Rawa Buaya Channel Dredging Reaches 80 Percent

Flood handling program remains conducted by West Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency. The dredging of Rawa Buaya connecting channel at RW 01, Rawa Buaya Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-district, is now reaching 80 percent.

Cengkareng Sub-district's Water Resource Implementer Head, Jhon Tarigan, said the dredging is conducted along 400 meters starting from Mookervart Sluice Gate up to Jalan Guru Ma'mun. The work was started since November 2023.
"Now the dredging has reached 300 meters or 80 percent," he said, Wednesday (1/10).

"It is hoped the dredging will add the channel capacity thus it can prevent inundation. It is targeted to complete in two months," he added.
Sucipto, local resident, welcomed positively about the dredging conducted by West Jakarta Administration.
"The mud was already thick. We hope the dredging will minimize inundation during heavy rain," he hoped.
