Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma said tree planting packaged in the Jumat Menanam program (Friday Planting) is a routine agenda because the area is in the middle of a city that is busy with vehicle activity.

"We'll keep greening Central Jakarta to anticipate the impact of climate change," he stressed while planting protective trees on Jalan Sekolah, RW 08 Petojo Utara Sub-district, Gambir, Friday (1/12).

At the location, he and his staff planted five Tebabuya trees which were the result of collaboration between Petojo Utara Sub-district and CSR Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN).

"It is done along the road. Hopefully, it can support the planning of the area here," he exclaimed.

Central Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency Head, Mila Ananda added the Tabebuya trees planted were each five meters high.

He asserted the limited and congested geographical conditions of Central Jakarta must be maximized by planting trees in various locations on empty social and public facilities land.

"That's why, we maximize the land along roadsides, rivers, and other available social and public facilities land," he stated.
