Dispora Rehab Total Dua Gelanggang Remaja Tahun Ini

Two Youth Centers will Be Completely Renovated This Year

The Jakarta Youth and Sports Agency will completely renovate two youth arenas this year. The two are, Cipayung Sub-district Youth Center, East Jakarta, and Sawah Besar Sub-district Youth Center, Central Jakarta.

We completely renovate it

Facilities and Infrastructure Sector Division Head, Fikri Hidayat said the total renovation of the two youth centers was carried out, as the architecture was no longer suitable for current conditions. Moreover, the building is old so it needs rejuvenation.

"We want to improve its function, then from what was originally one floor after renovation it will become two floors. Thus, it can accommodate sports space for the community and social activities as well, so that they don't intersect," he expressed, Tuesday (1/16).

He explained the sports facilities available would be for badminton, volleyball, basketball, and futsal.

He added the construction progress was in the process of preparing tender documents and construction was targeted to start in April 2024. The total budget for the rehabilitation of the two youth centers is Rp 64 billion.

"We completely renovate it, the old one was removed or demolished and then a new one was built in the same location. The target is to complete it by the end of this year. Thus far, it is parallel to the deletion process at BPAD," he explained.

He added he said it is part of the revitalization of 35 sub-district youth centers throughout Jakarta.
