S. Jakarta KPKP Handles Cat Population in Jagakarsa

The South Jakarta Food Tenacity, Maritime and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency held free cat sterilization at Ciganjur Balai Benih Ikan (BBI), Jagakarsa Sub-district. The program is held to handle cat population.

Sub-agency Head, Hasudungan A Sidabalok, explained before getting sterilization, the cat must be health, minimally eight months old, and pregnant.

He added that the program involved 12 veterinarians and four veterinary paramedic from several clinics such as Yayasan Peduli Lingkungan Indonesia (YPLI), Pet Love Center Pet Family, Gege Cat Clinic, Kimara Pet Shop & Vet, Smile Animal Clinic and Animal Care.
"We also cooperate with Purina Pro Plan, Whiskas, Amity, Bravery NBBC Merch, Goodspaw Shampoo, Smart Heart to give free cat food," he added.
According to him, as many as 1.104 cats in South Jakarta have been sterilized. Those are 793 male and 311 female.
"The achievement is greater than the target for 1,000 cats in 10 sub-districts. Resident's enthusiasm is high," he continued.
In order to decrease cat population, the sub-agency keeps educating the animal owner to keep its health.
"The program will remain be continued. Thanks to the cat owners for participating in our program," he closed.
Meanwhile, Laila (35), Lenteng Agung resident, admitted the program ease her monitoring to her cat.
She hoped the program will remain be continued since the cat population is quite fast. Moreover, cat is transforming rabies.
"Thanks to the sub-agency and collaborator for providing the program. It helps us much since the program is free of charge," she admitted.
