230 Street Vendors Given Opportunity to Sell in Mall

South Jakarta Administration is cooperating with three modern shopping malls to accommodate hundreds of street vendors who have been trading in public facilities.

This is one of solution in handling street vendors who sell in public facilities. it also gives opportunity to them to sell merchandise in mall

South Jakarta Mayor, Syamsuddin Noor expressed as many as 230 vendors will be relocated to modern shopping malls. These malls are Kota Kasablanka, Gandaria City and Ciputra World.

“This is one of solution in handling street vendors who sell in public facilities. it also gives opportunity to them to sell merchandise in mall," uttered Noor, Tuesday (4/7).

Head of South Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade Sub -Department (KUMKMP), Indro Martono added hundreds of vendors have begun to open business in the Kota Kasablanka and Ciputra World Malls.

“As for the Gandaria City Mall, the preparation and verification is still being processed for vendors and medium-sized businesses (UKM),” he explained.

He expressed uttered, although it is facilitated, every vendor must pay the operational cost. “Its operational cost is like air-conditioned and electrical facilities. For cooking, they use an electric stove as unwanted things prevention,” he disclosed.
