Scores of Stalls on Jalan Cibulan Torn Down

Sayuti (45) could only stare seeing his stall that was demolished by Kebayoran Baru Sub-District Satpol PP personnel, South Jakarta, Wednesday (4/8). As for the information, he has been selling in the land since 41 years ago.

"The stall is the legacy from my mother 41 years ago. I just resigned when personnel tore down my stall because the contract is over," told a citizen of Jalan Poncol, Kuningan Barat.

Until now, he claimed does not have a new place for his business. "Honestly, I'm very confused at this time," he expressed sadly.

The demolition that conducted at Jalan Cibulan or known as JS 34 was done by 50 Satpol PP personnel. It is done to restore the function of the sidewalk.

"We demolish 22 stalls in JS 34 due to its contract was expired. The peddlers will be relocated to the Santa Market," told Head of Kebayoran Baru Sub-District, Edy Suherman.

Before demolition, Suherman continued, 2 months ago, his side had held socialization and warned the peddlers to leave their stall. 

"We had held socialization 2 months ago and sent the warning letter 2 weeks ago," he uttered.
