No Traffic Diversion When Asia Africa Summit Takes Place

The 60th anniversary of the Asia-Africa Conference implementation which be held in Bandung and Jakarta on 19-23 April 2015 certainly will not interfere the traffic fluency. Thus, Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department do not take any traffic engineering in several roads which Asia Africa Summit Delegation passing.

“Hence only traffic arrangements in the scene without any traffic engineering. This means that in this case, there is no either closing or diversion road,” said Head of Traffic Engineering Transportation Sub-Department, Masdes Arrofi, Thursday (4/9).

Arrofi added the conference which begins on Sunday (4/19) also certain will not interfere car free day activity in Bundaran Hotel Indonesia vicinity.

“The coordination meeting has conveyed that car free day activity still be held as usual. No shorten for its duration,” he enlightened.

Meanwhile, Head of Jakarta Control and Operations Transportation Sub-Department, Henrico Tampubolon conveyed during the conference, his party is going to deploy as many as 200 personnel. They will be commissioned to assist Metro Jaya Regional Police to arrange the traffic in several points of 109 delegation and head state trip route.

“Later on, we guard in ring 3, assist to set the traffic and preparing them in the delegations’ trip points. Starting from airport to Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) to the inn, then to Presidential Palace,” he explained.

Tampubolon revealed beside arrange the traffic, his party also preparing 13 towing cars along several points trip of the delegation. The car is prepared to raid the vehicle which caught illegal parking and assist the delegation car if it broken down.
